Alyssa Settles

I am currently finishing my time as a VCU graduate student, student teaching at William Fox Elementary. I am working on getting a masters in elementary education so I can fulfill my dreams of becoming a teacher. I hope to one day inspire the next generation of children to enjoy learning and want to better themselves through education.

I currently am employed by VCU’s Campus Learning Center as a supplemental instruction leader where I lead review groups in various subject areas. I use group activities to reinforce what the students have been learning in large lectures. I also am employed by Richmond Public Schools as a substitute teacher. I have previous experience volunteering at a Spartan Sprouts, a preschool for low income families and have worked as a camp counselor for a range of different age groups from six to thirteen.
