My name is Amie Patrick. When I graduated from nursing school in 2010 I did not know how unprepared I was when it came to self-care and personal wellness.  Nursing can be a very rewarding but stressful career.  I found yoga as a self-care individual intervention that enabled me to let the stress out on the mat leaving me stronger physically, emotionally, and mentally.  I felt more confident and calm whenever I walked into a state of chaos.  While contemplating pursuing my education with a Doctoral of Nursing (DNP) degree during the pandemic, I realized the need for wellness interventions with healthcare workers and decided to make this my DNP plan of study!  As I have continued to pursue my studies there is growing evidence that interventions need to occur not only at the individual level but the system level to decrease the stress that can ultimately lead to burnout.
