What’s the significance?

  • Britz states “Experts  expect an expanding global population and growing population and growing economic affluence in developing countries to increase the demand for food, evan as climate change hampers the planet’s ability to feed it” (5).

These sources show that the issue of  food waste is becoming increasingly important, while the public’s awareness, and therefore ability to act, is limited. This could be a major long term problem for those in underdeveloped nations who are already undernourished and lacking food.
