Do you enjoy working with youth? Are you considering a career in teaching? Would you like to earn a little extra cash this summer?
If you answered yes to one of these questions, then the Noyce Summer Internship Program maybe for you.
The VCU National Science Foundation funded Noyce Initiative is sponsoring the Noyce Summer Internship Program to pique STEM majors’ interest in pursuing a career in teaching. As an intern, you will be given an opportunity to work with middle and/or high school students and teachers through one of three STEM pipeline and outreach programs. Interns will receive a $500 stipend in exchange for your commitment to work for one week (40 hours) during the summer with one of the programs.Interns will assist with lesson preparation and delivery. We believe this relatively low stress exposure will serve as a positive experience to begin building interest in a career in teaching.
