The Department of Biology and VCU Career Services present a workshop for STEM students in Harris Hall, Room 4153, focusing on networking skills. Learn about successful introductions and first impressions, elevator pitches, effective interaction at conferences or other professional events, and maintaining communication with new contacts. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management is offering a series of free online presentations covering “Pathways Programs/Writing Your Federal Resume” for students interested in federal internships or post-graduation employment.
Attendees will be shown a real federal government job posting and walked through a process that helps them review the posting to determine their qualifications, identify the important requirements, and then tailor their resumes to that posting.

If you have an upcoming interview or plan to attend professional event, you should focus on making an amazing first impression, not worrying about what to wear. We’ve got you covered. On April 4th and 5th, we’re holding our first ever Suit Yourself clothing giveaway.
Stop by from 11 am until 3 pm and pick out a free, lightly-used, professional outfit from our selection of tops, suits, pants, skirts, dresses and ties. You don’t have to pre-register and we will have fitting rooms available for you to try on clothing if you wish.
This event is first-come first-served and the limit is one outfit per person.
