Will it blend?

Will it blend?

That is the question asked by man in a white coat and protective goggles standing in front of a Blendtec blender. He asks this question of the items one might usually hope to blend — ingredients for a healthy green drink, even coffee beans. But he also puts in an iPhone, a Frozen inspired Barbie doll, oysters on the whole shell, and other equally surprising and yet apparently blend-able items.

Will it blend?

What if academic researchers and community researchers collaborate in a shared research project?

What if we put doctoral students together in a new connected learning experience about community-engaged research? And then what if we add community partners and faculty members and national experts?

Will it blend?

This is the stage when it is all possible, all the big ideas. But starting next week the big ideas will take shape into what is do-able. I’m confident that it will all blend, but still, I’m a little nervous about it too.
