The World Health Organization (WHO) defines Interprofessional Education (IPE) as “when students from two or more professions learn about, from and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes”.

The WHO also defines the framework for action on IPE and collaborative practice as “Collaborative practice happens when multiple health workers from different professional backgrounds work together with patients, families, carers and communities to deliver the highest quality of care”

Life expectancy varies by as much 15 years depending on social determinants of health. How can the interprofessional team help close that gap? Join us for the Sixth Annual Emswiller Interprofessional Symposium: Collaborating to Close Gaps.
