The Marcia Powell Festival of Religion & the Arts celebrates and explores the generative nexus of religious life and artistic expression. Join poets, artists, and scholars for a three-day conversation in April about religion, art, gender, sexuality, nature, ethnicity, culture, history, and the global community. The conference features keynote speakers, artistic performances and installations, academic panels, and visits to area theaters and museums. We invite you to join us for this international gathering in the thriving art city of Richmond, Virginia.
1. All conference-sponsored events are free and open the public. However, because some events may fill up, we request that you complete a general registration form.
2. There are two events, however, that require special (and separate) registration to attend:
a. Saturday, April 11, 5 p.m. reception at the VMFA . (complimentary Hors d’Oevres and cash bar.
b. Sunday, April 12, 10a.m. –12 p.m.. Continental breakfast brunch and guided bus tour with Ed Trask.
We’re looking forward to you joining the conversation.
