Clinical Laboratory Sciences Open House

College of Health Professions – Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences

Virtual Open House

November 5, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

RSVP online at

The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences would like to share with you the many opportunities available in the profession of clinical laboratory sciences.  A degree in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences provides a direct route to marketable skills that enable you to find employment in essentially any position that requires technical laboratory expertise including hospital, biotechnology, molecular diagnostics and industrial labs; sales and service of laboratory and pharmaceutical products; and biomedical research.  There is a large nationwide shortage of trained clinical laboratory scientists and the trend is increasing, giving graduates their choice of exciting jobs.

An additional but significant benefit is that clinical laboratory sciences training is an excellent preparation for further education in medicine and other graduate or professional programs.

Our department offers both undergraduate and graduate level programs, and includes several concentrations for students who enter at either level.  We also offer a combined Bachelor and Master of Science degree that can be completed in three years of full-time study following admission to the undergraduate program.  Students can pursue the graduate program on a full-time or part-time basis, providing the variety that meets the differing needs of today’s students.
