Welcome!

This course is targeted at new graduate students in Biology. It aims to (1) help students develop skills for writing clear and compelling research proposals, (2) introduce them to the peer review process, and to (3) facilitate them in developing a research question. Students will be expected to author, edit and revise research proposals to a level suitable for submission to the relevant funding agency. Through mock review panels, readings, exercises, and guided class discussions, students will learn about finding appropriate grants and develop a better understanding of the attributes that make successful (and unsuccessful) research proposals.
