Day 1

Students will fill out ways they can be a good friend.

·      Morning activity:

·      First students will place their left shoe in a pile

·      Each student will grab a shoe from the pile

·      Find a student with the same shoe and tell a story they remember when wearing their shoes

9:00-9:45

Morning centers

 

1.    Reading to self or with partner

2.    iPads- Reading A-Z

3.    Computers

4.    Writing work- students will have a choice of free writing

5.    Word wall center (write word walls by using stamps, crayons, and magnets)

9:45-10:45

 

·      Gather on the carpet

·      Read StellaLuna

·      Talk about Beginning, Middle, End of story

·      Students will fill in the worksheet for BME of StellaLuna

10:45-11:35

Resources

·      Walk students to Art class
11:45-12:15 ·      Bathroom break

·      Lunch

12:15- 12:40

Math

 

·      Students will be learning how to count by 2’s

·      Use the board to demonstrate how to count by twos by using a number line

·      Have students practice

·      Students will complete their worksheet individually

12:40- 1:15

Recess

 

·      Students can play on the playground, run, play basketball, jump rope, or hopscotch.
1:15- 1:55 ·      Students will learn about the Pueblo Indians

·      Buildings, source of food, climate, population, jobs

·      Work on the booklet

·      Answer worksheet about the Pueblo Indians

1:55- 2:05 ·      Pack bookbags

·      Clean up around their desk

2:05-2:10

Dismissal

·      Student pick up will leave first

·      Line up for dismissal

·      Drop off students at their bus

Day 2

·      Discuss events, characters, and settings

·      New words for word wall

12:15-12:40 ·      Students will be learning how to count by 3’s & 4’s

·      Use the board to demonstrate how to count by twos by using a number line

·      Have students practice

·      Students will complete their worksheet individually

12:40-1:15 ·      Recess
1:15- 1:55 ·      Students will learn about the Lakota Indian

·      Buildings, their source of food, climate, population, jobs

·      Work on the booklet

·      Answer worksheet about the Lakota Indians

1:55- 2:05 ·      Pack bookbags

·      Clean up around their desk

2:05-2:10

·      Activity: Compliment circle

·      Everyone will sit in a circle with their legs inside the circle.

·      A student will begin the first compliment to another student

·      The student who received the compliment will then sit crisscross applesauce. The students will continue until everyone has given a compliment.

·      Read The Day the Crayons Quit

·      Discuss events, characters, and settings

·      Create a model letter with class

·      Students will create their own letter to someone

10:45-11:35

Resources

·      Drop off students for Library

·      Bathroom break

11:45-12:15 ·      Lunch
12:15-12:40 ·      Students will be learning how to count by 5’s & 10’s

·      Use the board to demonstrate how to count by twos by using a number line

·      Have students practice

·      Students will complete their worksheet individually

12:40- 1:15

 

·      Recess
1:15- 1:55 ·      Students will learn about the Powhatan Indian

·      Buildings, their source of food, climate, population, jobs

·      Work on their Powhatan booklet

·      Answer worksheet about the Pueblo Indians

1:55- 2:05 ·      Pack bookbags

·      Clean up around their desk

2:05-2:10
