  • To reflect on the relationship of the arts in supporting learning throughout the classroom environment.
  • To develop instructional activities and supporting materials for including the arts in primary curriculum.
  • To identify ways in which the arts can be used to support the VA Standards of Learning for children in the K-5 classrooms.

  • For our making activity this week, you will create and 3d print an artifact.
    • Download free 3d printing software here: https://www.up3d.com/downloads/

      • Also Mike will be in the digital fabrication lab on Tuesdays from 5 to 7, and Wednesday from 2 to 3 for the next two weeks if you need additional assistance. You can also email him, and set up times as well
      • Once you have finished designing your artifact, please post both the digital file and a picture on your blog.

    • In this week’s reading, the author focuses on tapping into the surrounding community for integrating arts into the curriculum.  What people, place, or things in your community do you think would be helpful in creating a classroom culture which engages with the arts regularly?
