  • To develop instructional activities and supporting materials for including the arts in primary curriculum.

  • Read Chapter 7 – Due 3/19 by midnight
  • Art/Making Activity – Due 3/21 by class time
    • We are asking you to finish your poetry project and post pictures of your project to your blog
    • Put post in category “spring18tedu411section901” and “MakingActivity18”
    • Tag post with “week8” and any other tags you think are useful
  • Daily art posts (minimum 3) – Due 3/20 by midnight
    • Put posts in categories “spring18tedu411section901” and “dailyart18”
    • Tag posts with any of the Virginia SOLs that inspired the art (ie. “science3.8”), and any other tags you think are useful
  • Weekly blog post – Due 3/19 by midnight
    • In this week’s reading, the author focuses on science and integrating art into the science classroom in order to build understanding. Can you think of an example where art helped you better understand science?  Have pictures, music, or poetry ever made you think about the world in a scientific manner?

  • Respond to 2 classmates’ posts – Due 3/21 by class time
    • Respond to two of your classmates’ posts. When reading your classmates posts did it help you understand the subject of science in a different manner?  Were you able to see the connections made by your classmates between art and science?  Or do/did you have a completely different experience?
