The Office of Service-Learning and Community-Engaged Research at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, is a unit of the Provost’s Office that mobilizes university-community partnerships to generate innovative solutions to societal challenges and prepares the engaged citizens of tomorrow. Through this work, we collaborate with campus academic units to create curriculum and resources that support students’ civic engagement and learning.
This Resource Hub was designed to be a central repository to be utilized by research methods faculty as a way to incorporate the foundations of community-engaged research into undergraduate and graduate level scholarship across disciplines. The resources shared here have been vetted and formatted to be accessible to instructors from both academic and nonacademic sectors, promoting inclusivity, diverse perspectives, and partnership development across disciplines and institutions. Our team has pulled together a collection of resources from community-engaged institutions, organizations, and scholars and we encourage you to share and utilize these materials to suit your institution’s, students’, and community partners’ needs. We hope this hub will be helpful to you as you, like us, strive to create a community of engaged citizens who are working together and changing lives.
