
Recent Wright Center Ph.D. graduate Tia Turner has won VCU’s 2020 Distinguished Dissertation Award in Life Sciences.
Turner received a National Cancer Institute grant to fund her research aimed at uncovering novel drug combinations to treat triple-negative breast cancer last year.
She graduated from the Ph.D. program in May after defending her award-winning dissertation and will continue to complete her M.D. at VCU’s School of Medicine.
VCU’s Graduate School awards four Distinguished Dissertation prizes each year for outstanding doctoral dissertations.
