I have been an educator for 20 years I began my career in education as an elementary teacher in Waynesboro, Virginia. After getting married my husband and I moved to Hawaii and I spent 4 years as an elementary teacher in Honolulu, Hawaii and received my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Literacy from Chaminade University. After returning to Virginia I continued to teach elementary school while completing my Administrative Licensure through The Virginia School-University Partnership through the Curry School of Education. Following my administrative leadership training, I spent two years as an Instructional Coach in Waynesboro City Schools. In 2010 I became an administrator within Harrisonburg City Public Schools. I have been an administrator in Harrisonburg for the last 10 years. I have served in the capacity as an Assistant Principal, the K-12 Language Arts Supervisor, a Principal, and currently, I am the Director of Instructional Support.
