SOL 1.4 The student will develop map skills by
a) recognizing basic map symbols, including references to land, water, cities, and roads

The student will use the Google site to identify land, water, roads and cities using a drag-and-drop function. The student will then take an assessment to identify a body of water, a city, and land from based on what they’ve identified observing a map.

 

TCK:  Technology changes the way we look at maps through the use of 3D and Google Earth for students to visualize where they are on a map and how they see maps and relate them to actual bodies of water, land, cities or roads.

TPK: Using technology to visualize where each part of the map fits into the correct category based on what the student can see.

PCK: Developing map skills through identifying key elements on maps through observation of color, shape, line and other symbols.
