Join the LEGACI project to help us learn about the long-term effects of COVID-19 in children and families

If you or someone you love has or had a COVID infection, you might be able to help us understand more about it and how to treat it. Even if you have not had COVID, you might be able to help!

WHAT IS LONG COVID?

Long COVID is when a person is still sick many months after getting COVID. Their symptoms can include trouble breathing, a cough, feeling weak and tired, and problems with certain organs, such as their heart or kidneys.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN PARTICIPATING?

Children and families enrolled in the study will be asked to share different types of information with researchers over the span of several years. Some of these activities will be conducted remotely, some may involve a research team member visiting your home or neighborhood, and some may involve you coming to VCU School of Nursing.

WHAT DOES “RECOVER” STAND FOR?

It is an abbreviation for: Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) created the RECOVER Initiative to learn about the long-term effects of COVID. Help us find answers by sharing your experience and volunteering to participate in research.

WHAT DOES “LEGACI” STAND FOR?

It is an abbreviation for: Lifecourse Examination of Genomics and Neurocognitive Changes following COVID. We use #OurLEGACI because participants in this study will provide the legacy of helping our local and nationwide community to understand long-term effects of COVID.
