What is Virginia LEND Online? 

Virginia LEND Online is a series of online training modules, adapted from the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center LEND Moodles, that include presentations, videos, activities, interactive discussion boards hosted by a course instructor (**coming soon) and quizzes. The modules are asynchronous which allows you to complete them during the times that are most convenient for you. The modules focus on multiple neurodevelopmental and related disabilities, person-first language, and the concepts of interdisciplinary teamwork.

How do I enroll in Virginia LEND Online? 

To enroll in Virginia LEND Online, click on the “Register Now” link below and fill out the application. After you have registered, you will be able to access your content by logging in.

How do I complete the Virginia LEND Online Modules?

After you register for the Virginia LEND Online program, click on Module 1 link. You will be directed to the module where you will find the pre-assessment, module content and post-assessment. Begin the module by taking the pre-assessment which has been designed to both introduce you to the content that will be found in the module and show you how much you know about the subject. Once you complete the pre-assessment, begin reviewing the presentation and designated resources for the module. The module should take between 1-1 1/2 hours to complete. When you have reviewed all the content and familiarized yourself with the subject, you will take the post-assessment. A passing score of 80% is required to obtain your certificate for the module.

What can I do with this training? 

As you work through the modules for Virginia LEND Online, you will learn about evidence-based practices and techniques that will improve communication and teamwork within your workplace. You will be a leader in applying these techniques and can use your training to educate the teams you work on. Upon completion of each module (reviewing content, completing any activities and passing post-assessment with a score of 80%) you will receive a certificate of completion you will be able to print out for your records and/or share with your employer.
